The issue

In China, big organisations hold Angora rabbits in small cages. Employees take the rabbits and skin their fur off their skin. Clothing and other accessories are made from their fur. The process of getting this fur is very painful for the rabbits. Some of them scream until their lungs explode. Others do survive the skinning process, but become deeply shocked by everything.

How do these companies work?

In order for these companies to make enough money, they have to skin the rabbits every 2 months. This gives the rabbit barely any time to recover from the whole process. And since companies can’t skin them every day, they have a huge amount of rabbits to keep the business running. These rabbits live in tiny cages and barely, if even, come outside.

What does this mean for us?

In The Netherlands and Europe in general most big fashion companies have stopped selling clothes and accessories made of angora wool. However the production of this wool, and with that the animal abuse, is still happening. ‘Save the bunny’ thinks that it needs to stop.

Mission

We believe that every form of animal abuse is stopped. We want to make the mass production of angora wool in Asian countries illegal. If, for some reason, these countries are not willing to cooperate we want to make the import for angora wool to European countries illegal.

Vision

Animals can’t talk. So if they are being treated inrightfull in any way, they can’t defend themselves. Save the bunny wants to be the voice that animals can’t have. That way we hope to make people aware of the suffering amongst animals. We are against any form of animal abuse and we strive for a world without it.

I love animals. I've been horsebackriding since I was 10 years old. I have a cat and am a vegetarian. I believe that every animal has the right to a good life.

I believe in equal rights. People have a voice, animals don't. I think that is injustice and injustice is something that has to disapear from this world.
